Previously at Virtutela, tackling fashion’s billion-dollar waste problem. Now freelance — most recently shipped Stocktopus, lifting sell-through roughly 4x in two months.
Open to workI joined Virtutela, an early-stage fashion tech startup, as founding product lead — no roadmap, no product yet. I built the service blueprint and user architecture before a single line of code.
Then I reframed the pitch from a bespoke brand to a circular fashion ecosystem. That reframe became the story that helped drive $10M+ in funding interest.
Peak Design's SF flagship takes in 7+ returns a week, and open-box overflow — out of box, lightly used, missing parts — had no place in the store's process. The planned fix needed HQ approval, so I skipped it and built a standalone web app instead.
I proposed it, built it solo in under a week, and it cut inventory search time 4x in production. 200+ sessions in its first seven weeks, and it's now being scoped for stores across the country.
Kooco.co, a Taiwan-based development agency, brought 8x8 Studio in on Spark — a new real-money gaming platform rebranded from a system already live with real players. The ask was visual: turn an inconsistent UI into a scalable system without stalling a dev team that was still shipping.
I ran a UX audit, then scaled two concept screens into a tokenized system across 40+ screens — type scale, color ramps, icons, and component states. Usability came back roughly 40% better in a five-user test I set up on my own initiative.
A data governance and security platform needed to move fast on product discovery under real competitive pressure. Three months of backlog planning was stalling the team.
I ran a stakeholder alignment workshop that compressed that backlog into a two-day scoped plan, unlocking a 13-week engagement. Alignment was the bottleneck, not information.
Kids & Art Foundation runs art programs for kids with cancer, and needed an onboarding experience that worked for a mission-driven, resource-constrained team.
I designed the onboarding end to end. It drove 20+ signups a month and won an Honorable Mention at SF Design Week
Strategist, designer, builder. Often all three on one project.
I’ve spent 5+ years bouncing between a founding-stage startup, an independent consultancy, and enterprise platforms. My proudest moments come when I get to do the design and build work myself — like helping Virtutela build an AI-powered fashion ecosystem from the ground up.
Here is what it is like working with me.
Outside of product: portrait and street photography, shot on Fujifilm (practically an unofficial ambassador). Check out my work at paulsible.mypixieset.com.
